In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Again... ![]() Banding Geese At this time of year the Geese are raising their babies, and are, also, in the latter stages of moulting, so most cannot or will not fly. The DNRE agents locate large groups of geese, usually in the water, then they are herded by kayak or canoe into a make shift pen. They are then carefully banded and released. It was awesome to be that "up close and personal" with these beautiful wild geese! ![]() Michigan DNRE (Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Crew Nick Brichacek, Waterfowl Representative from Hunters Specialties, brought his camera and documented the day! With approximately 80 geese banded, there was not one single "Goose Attack"! I was amazed, but the Michigan DNRE are very careful and quiet which keeps the geese calm and somewhat cooperative! Here are several more pix on my Picasa Photo Album: DNR Banding Geese 1 Responses to "In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Again..."
