“Girls Bringing Home the Bacon!”

Another successful “Girls’ Hunt Out” in Texas for a fabulous HOG HUNT!

Thanks to Aaron Holley, Ranch Manager and Ken Petrash, private Ranch owner, we had the privilege of hunting some beautiful land and staying in a Log Cabin that felt like home!

Many of the girls had not met before the hunt, but by weekend’s end we were all best of friends! Women traveled from all over the country donating time and ammo to help control the Texas “Hog Population Control”! We enjoyed daytime and night time hunting with the aid of many products from Elusive Wildlife Technologies helping to light up the night without spooking the animals! There were Green Lights and Red Lights” but they all meant GO!! Lights under the feeders, hand held flashlights, scope mounted lights, and ATV headlights made the night come alive and keep the animals calm! It is amazing what you can see in pitch black darkness!

We had such a great group of girls including Stacy Sissney, of His & Hers Outdoors TV. Stacy brought her best cameraman (who just happened to be her husband Jon Sissney) and she was the first to knock down a HOG the first morning! You will be able to see some highlights of the weekend on an episode during their next season! It was also an extra special treat to have Karen Butler, founder of “Shoot Like a Girl” in camp with us giving those hogs a hard time! Not only a sharp shooter and leader in the industry for promoting women’s participation in shooting sports, Karen is a hard core hunter, and she successfully brought down a huge hog in pitch black darkness with the help of the EWT Kill Light XLR 250 ! Shelly Burnworth, aka Fabulous Cajun Cook, was the last to take down a hog, but definitely not the least! She went home with lots of fresh pork from her 175+lb boar! The rest of us girls hunted hard, most of the day, and much of the nights but were not successful making a connection on this trip. Although some of us went home empty handed, our hearts were full with lots of memories to last us a lifetime! We are all looking forward to the next time we all get to hang and hunt again!

We had several sponsors kick in some Goodies for the girls and I would like to Thank them each and every one!
